Dysport injections are a type of neuromodulator used to treat frown lines, crow’s feet, and other facial cosmetic issues. The purpose of any given neuromodulator is to enable one or more neurons to regulate a diverse set of neurons through the chemical or substance used. The actual injection process is quick and painless, involving one injection into five different points between and above your eyebrows. Before the injection, Dr. Elsheikh will remove any makeup from the injection site and apply a numbing cream to minimize any discomfort. The injection is administered by a licensed medical professional using a sterile, single-use syringe with the capacity to hold up to 300 units of Dysport. In total, your visit to the Wellness Center of Greater Cleveland should take between 30 and 45 minutes, including both the consultation and the injection. Once the treatment is over, you will be free to go! No downtime is required with Dysport injections. That said, Dr. Elsheikh will provide you with some post-care instructions to experience the best possible results from Dysport treatment.

There is not much to say for pre-care instructions for Dysport injections, other than you should consult with your primary care physician and discontinue the use of any blood-thinning medication if you plan to go ahead with injections. You should also be prepared for Dr. Elsheikh to remove some of your makeup from the treatment area. As for post-care instructions, there are a few more things to consider. For about 30 minutes after treatment, practice exercising the treated muscles by frowning, raising your eyebrows, or squinting to allow the Dysport to work its way into your muscles. It is also recommended that you refrain from strenuous exercise, rubbing or massaging the treated area, and lying down for at least four hours after treatment.
